Pecan and Oat Burgers

2 cups quick oats
1/2 cup dry whole wheat bread crumbs (you can make your own by toasting your bread and pulverizing it in the blender or food processor)
1 cup cooked brown rice
1/4 cup pecans, ground
1 celery stalk, washed and chopped
1 carrot, peeled and sliced
Salt to taste
1 Tbsp. sweet paprika powder
1 red onion, peeled and sliced
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. ground sweet basil
1 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
1/4 tsp. ground sage
1 Plum or Roma tomato, seeded and chopped
1 1/2 to 2 cups water
1 Tbsp. olive oil
All purpose flour as needed

In a blender or food processor, process the tomato, carrot,parsley, celery and pecans with a little bit of the water until smooth.
Scrape into a bowl. Add the rest of the ingredients and the rest of the water alternately, as you mix, until you have a dough you can form with your hands into a burger shape. Add all purpose flour if needed.
Hea up a skillet and cook burgers until golden brown on both sides. You may also bake them at 350ยบ F for about 3o minutes.
Yield depends on size of burgers.
Serve with your favorite sauce or gravy.
