Veggie Steaks (New!)

Best Blog Tips

These Veggie Steaks are absolutely delicious and so versatile! You can use them as a side dish to anything you like from potatoes to rice, just add a nice salad and whatever else you like. You can also use them as a central ingredient of your favorite hearty sandwich, just add the toppings of your choice, some nice veggie cheese or sauce and you're set!

1 cup oats (quick)
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup wheat germ
1 Tbsp. cornstarch or 1 Tbsp. gluten flour (if you're not allergic)
1 carrot, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup sweet red pepper, chopped
1/2 cup sweet green pepper, chopped
1 stalk celery, washed and chopped
1 medium tomato, chunked
1 medium onion, peeled and chopped
1 cup water
1 Tbsp. sweet paprika powder
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp. garlic (1 tsp. if you are a garlic lover)
1 Tbsp. coriander powder
1/2 tsp. dried mint (no, it will not make it taste like tea!)

In a blender, process peppers, tomato, carrot and celery with a little water. Scrape mixture into a bowl.
Add the rest of the ingreidents and combine into a soft dough. Form steaks and cook in a hot skillet barely
"painted' with olive oil until golden brown on both sides.
Prepare your favorite tomato sauce to top them.
